From artist Pam Burns, "I am an enrolled member of the Sault St Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Sault St. Marie, Michigan. I have traced my ancestry back to five generations. I am the Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Granddaughter of Chief Nabenayash. I currently reside in Northern Minnesota. A have been a crafter most of my life. I am an accomplished quilt maker, basket weaver, house plant aficionado, and gardener. Currently, I am a cook at a nursing home in Northern Minnesota, where I enjoy cooking for the Elders. I am also a volunteer for the American Red Cross Organization. In the last year, I have been deployed to Florida for Hurricanes, Texas for the flooding, and Hawaii for the fires. I enjoy working for the Red Cross and helping people wherever I am needed."
