I am a 'Tetsubin' Cast Iron Kettle. Stop staring you’re making me nervous. I won’t be able to perform.
Curator's Notes
This kettle is a take on a Japanese classic. It has a traditional feel with typical cast iron kettle details but the proportions feel modern. Cast iron is heavyweight but this kettle is compact and manageable. Like many cast iron wares, this piece has excellent heat retention and even heat distribution. The surface texture on the exterior of the kettle feels like a thick saturated patina that adds to the kettle's inherent heirloom quality.
